amoxicillin: a tool for survival

The amoxicillin is a lethal weapon developed by the human to win the battle for the survival to pathogens that, during an infectious disease, can finish with our life.

Bacteria, the only living beings found in every ecological niche, take every opportunity to invade our body in the form of an infectious process. Such invasions are often thwarted by our own immune system, but in other cases we must resort to measures like amoxicillin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic whose chemical action attacks the cell walls of said pathogen.

Sociomicrobiology alerts us of the potential ofpathogenic bacteria to develop biochemical means to inhibit the action of these drugs, a puzzling strategy that keeps us under permanent check. The average usefulness of antibiotics is short (a few months or years), and we would do good to remember that no enemy is too small.

I was surprised by the radiating threads in this molecule, sometimes straight and sometimes curling, spiraling, or displaying fractal forms. These threads enable the chemical

action of amoxicillin.

I express it in continuous metamorphosis of forms that fill the space, a metaphor of the constant evolution that requires this type of drugs to destroy the new defenses that develop the colonies of pathogenic bacteria to resist the attacks of these substances.

Its shapes constitute an expressive landscape of precarious balance between vivid colors and twisted grey shapes, suggesting a reservoir of energy and inner strength.
