dopamine, emotions, mind and color
Our creative mind, of logic gates with switches of colors, is a completely irrational and so exclusive plot of the homo sapiens.
Color, code of our visual language, is also emotional energy, which makes it a powerful expressive tool essential in art.
But color is not in things, it is an immaterial entity that exists only in our mind. It is the result of brain activity, orchestrated by several neurotransmitters, including dopamine, which, during the psychophysical process of the visual perception initiated in the retina, transforms those nerve impulses into the "sensation of color."
In the reality of dreams, color is also present.
These captures are my expressions of the physical and metaphysical microcosm of dopamine, microlandscapes where the protagonists are de soul's colors, and the worlds of emotions that allow us to build.
They praise its role in the perception of color and in the sensations and aesthetic experiences that it makes us feel, and that feed memories, histories and hysterias and to our own human existence.
This molecule acts as a peripheral hormone, and as neurotransmitter plays a key role in the control of locomotion, reward-motivated behavior, learning, working memory, cognition, and emotion.
